Artist's Comments

Wonder if I filled out the submission form right... This is my first LiteStep theme, still a work in progress. Thought I'd see if anyone wanted to try it/offer comments.

The date/time display uses the font "Elronet Monospace". It's in the "needed fonts" folder in the zip (original download updated)

Some module DLL's won't download correctly. I've included these modules in the "needed dlls" folder in the zip (original download updated)

Read the readme to figure out how to set it up if you like it. (And let me know if you like it so that I'll improve it more!)

The background is included and is subtly animated. It was originally made by ~lassekongo83: [link]

Be aware that animation takes up a chunk of RAM! - I think it's around 20mb. If you want to turn it off for your own background, read the readme.

It should work on any res... but the background is sized at 1680x1050 and will stretch to other resolutions. If more than 0 people like the theme I might improve that a bit.

The "start menu" buttons and system tray auto hide/show when the mouse is near, but that's toggleable with the little round button. I intended for the theme to look -clean- (semi-minimalistic).

I'm open to suggestions!

How to Use it in Windows XP
:iconhomerjohnston:
It's a LiteStep theme... if you're new to LiteStep: it's a Windows Shell replacement. If you want to try it, either Google it or read more about it at this website: [link]

If you're not good with computers it can be risky, as it modifies important system files, and it also requires a bit of text-editing code to set up the "pop-up menus" used to your own needs. (In other words, try at your own risk! )

I forgot to include that the time/date uses the font "Elronet Monospace". Get it here: [link]

really nice theme! :) I'm having trouble getting it to work completely, but I'm also new to LiteStep. the animated background is nice, and the bars are sleek and elegant.

Very nice theme, had to change versions of a few modules due to not being able to download, but a very clean beautiful them.
:icondeesto:
right... I found the "right" versions of xtaskbar and xtray (betas) ... what did you install for ckhotspots?
:iconhomerjohnston:
Crud, I figured I'd forget something, being the first time I've tried releasing something like this. Here are the modules that won't download, and current URLs to get them (if I release a "beta 2" or "final" someday, I'll remember to include them)

xtaskbar-2.2.2: [link]
xtray-2.1.2: contained in same .zip as xtaskbar
ckhotspots: [link]

xhotspot-0.1.2: this one actually isn't needed, I forgot to remove it. Please remove its entry from the theme.rc file!

Otherwise, slightly older module versions should work just fine. I haven't used any of the newer features (yet).

Thanks for the comments guys! (And for letting me know what I've done wrong so far :) )

Interesting. My system tray isn't auto-hiding. It'll show up when I click the round button, but that brings up the "My Computer, Applications, etc." buttons, which I don't want all the time.
:iconhomerjohnston:
is it not auto-hiding, or not auto-showing?

do the "start menu" buttons show up when you mouse-over them? (make sure ckhotspots.dll is working?)
